Royal Blog Tour Featured Set (Wedding Sweet)

Although the tour is now over (and I hope you enjoyed it), my samples and featured items remain. I will soon be adding the tutorials on how to make all pieces of the wedding invitation and the Save The Date card.

Featured Stamp Set: Wedding Sweet

When the new catalog came out, I just fell in love with this new set and series of "wedding" product. I am featuring the Wedding Sweet stamp set (featured on page 48) but have also incorporated the following:

As promised here are the instructions on how to make the various elements of this wedding invitation set! Keep reading below each image for the instructions for each element.

This is the finished close invitation. It is embossed using the Textured Folder as well as using the Silver Embossing Powder. The paper is shiny so it's not photographing that well, but I think you may still may be able to see how beautiful the new Bridal Specialty Papers are.

Instructions

Main Invitation

1. The main invitation is created using a 5-1/4 x 12 inch piece of the new Bride Specialty Paper.
2. It is scored at 2-1/4 and 7-1/2.
3. The resulting 4-1/4 x 5-1/4 flap is then embossed using the new Elegant Bouquet Textured Folder where the front appears "indented" instead of "raised" so when you open the invitation, the inside of that flap will instead be "raised".

Name Tag

1. First cut a piece of Basic Gray cardstock 2 inches by 3-3/4 inches.
2. The names are printed on Whisper White cardstock using MS Word and my printer (color of text #333333 - dary gray). Then the tag is trimmed to be 1/8" smaller then the Basic Gray cardstock.
3. A portion of the floral image from the Wedding Sweet stamp set is then embossed in silver. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing.
4. Adhere the White and Gray pieces together using SNAIL adhesive.
5. Then adhere the tag to the front (top flap) using SNAIL adhesive.
6. Then wrap and tie a knot using White Taffeta Ribbon to seal/close the invitation.
   

This is what the invitation looks like when it is first opened. Notice the reverse embossing on the front shows beautifully on the inside (normal, raised look). I also used the same striped specialty paper on the inside, Silver Embossing Powder on the many cards that make up the invitation (Formal Invitation, Directions, Accommodations, and R.S.V.P).

Here is another view of all the individual pieces that make up the invitation - all are embossed and layered on Basic Gray cardstock (invitation details printed on Whisper White cardstock on my HP Color LaserJet Printer).

NOTE: I will be detailing each piece below, starting with the bottom most layer (the actual invitation details).

Here is the formal invitation up close - the bottom most (but most important) piece of the project!

Instructions

The Formal Invitation

1. First, adhere a piece of the Bride Specialty Paper (5-1/4 x 5-1/4 to the center of the inside of the invitation.
2. Then cut and adhere a 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic Gray cardstock on top of that.
3. Print the formal invitation details from MS Word onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim paper to 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 and adhere to Basic Gray paper.
4. Using the floral stamp from Wedding Sweet, emboss it in Silver. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing. Adhere to the Basic Gray paper.
5. The KEY here is to NOTE where you have stamped your image from the bottom (so you can use that as a marker as you stamp the other elements of the invitation (Accomodations, Directiosn, R.S.V.P). Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig would be great to help keep it aligned.

Directions

1. Cut a piece of Basic Gray cardstock 4-3/4 x 4-1/4
2. Print the directions for your guests from MS Word onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim paper to 4-1/2 x 4 and adhere to Basic Gray paper.
3. Using the floral stamp from Wedding Sweet, emboss it in Silver. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing. Adhere to the Basic Gray paper.
4. Now here is where you want to try and align the stamp from the bottom of the piece of paper using the measurement of the previously stamped image on the main invitation. This is so when all the pieces are layered inside the invitation, when it is first opened, it will line up the image of the flower.
   

Accomodations

1. Cut a piece of Basic Gray cardstock 4-3/4 x 3-3/4.
2. Print the accomodations for your guests from MS Word onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim paper to 4-1/2 x 3-1/2 and adhere to Basic Gray paper.
3. Using the floral stamp from Wedding Sweet, emboss it in Silver. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing. Adhere to the Basic Gray paper.
4. Now here is where you want to try and align the stamp from the bottom of the piece of paper using the measurement of the previously stamped image on the main invitation. This is so when all the pieces are layered inside the invitation, when it is first opened, it will line up the image of the flower.

R.S.V.P

1. Cut a piece of Basic Gray cardstock 4-3/4 x 3-1/4.
2. Print the reply card for your guests to later mail in from MS Word onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim paper to 4-1/2 x 3 and adhere to Basic Gray paper. NOTE: In this invitation I did not include a pre-stamped envelope for your guests, but that can be included as well and stamped to match. You can use the Note Card size envelopes.
3. Using the floral stamp from Wedding Sweet, emboss it in Silver. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing. Adhere to the Basic Gray paper.
4. Now here is where you want to try and align the stamp from the bottom of the piece of paper using the measurement of the previously stamped image on the main invitation. This is so when all the pieces are layered inside the invitation, when it is first opened, it will line up the image of the flower.

Here is the coordinating Save The Date card.

Instructions

1. Start with a 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of the Bride Specialty Paper.
2. Then adhere a 5 x 5 piece of Basic Gray to that.
3. Print details on Whisper White cardstock (from printer using MS Word).
4. Stamp and emboss "Save The Date" greeting.
5. Stamp and emboss the floral stamp from Wedding Sweet. Click here for instructions on how to use Heat Embossing.
6. Then adhere Whisper White cardstock to Basic Gray.
   

Lastly, There's so much you can do but I tried to keep it elegant, simple, and traditional. Hope you enjoyed these samples as much as I do!
