TECHNIQUE: Poppin' Pastels - Mother's Day Card

This Mother's Day card really can be an any occasion card, just substitute the greeting!

Stamps
  • Blossoms Around

Paper

  • Certainly Celery
  • Blush Blossom

Inks

  • Certainly Celery
  • Blush Blossom

Stampin' Up! Accessories

  • Certainly Celery organdy ribbon (now retired)
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • SNAIL Adhesive
  • Stampin’ Pastels
  • Versa Mark Pad

Instructions

  1. Stamp leaves and vine in Certainly Celery.
  2. When doing the leaves, use the “stamp off” technique which gives the lighter shade. Meaning, ink the leaves with Certainly Celery, stamp on your grid/scrap paper, then stamp on the “good” cardstock (your card front).
  3. Ink floral bush-like stamp in Blush Blossom.
  4. Stamp the highlighted floral stamp in Versa Mark, and then on the cardstock (two-step stamping).
  5. Use the sponge dauber in a peach/pink color pastel and dab over the versa marked area. Shake off excess powder from chalk/pastels. You can use the eraser that comes with the Stampin’ Pastels if you wish to “clean up” any of the pastels that may have gone outside the “lines”.
  6. Finish card with greeting and ribbon (ribbon held with Mini Glue Dots).
