In creating the Fresh Cut sample for a recent Technique Class, the first step was "Masking".
- I traced the die cut flower shape on scrap paper.
- Cut out the image from the scrap paper but a little larger than the traced image.
- I also used a 2nd piece of scrap paper (the tan pieces you see in the image above), because I didn't want the background image to go past a certain area of the card.
- I then inked the background image in Sky Blue and stamped on the card front. Notice the ink that gets on the 2 pieces of scrap (that is not, therefore, on the card front due to the "masking").
- See the next, later post to see how the sample develops.
